Perry Co. – One person was killed in a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle Saturday afternoon in Perry County. Illinois State Police say around 4, 41-year-old Issac Gurley of Herrin was driving his pickup truck north on Illinois 127 just north of the intersection with Matthews Road, when he passed another northbound vehicle in a no passing zone in a curve and struck a motorcycle going south driven by 67-year-old Byrlie Baird of Ava. Baird and his passenger, 69-year-old Terese Baird of Ava, were both ejected from the motorcycle during the crash. Terese Baird was pronounced dead at the scene by Perry County Coroner Paul Searby. Byrlie Baird was airlifted from the scene to a St. Louis hospital. Gurley was not hurt. He was cited for passing in a no passing zone.
