White Co. – Two are recovering following a three-vehicle crash in White County yesterday. According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the accident happened when a pick-up being driven by 39-year-old Travis J. Vaughn of Barnhill was headed east on Illinois 14 and slowed to turn south on County Road 500E. Another driver, 50-year-old Merle E. Langley of McLeansboro was also going east behind Vaughan and slowed down. However, 43-year-old Jeremy E. RUSH of Springerton, who had been going east in his pickup truck behind Langley failed to slow down and struck the rear of Langley’s truck which was pushed into the rear of Vaughan’s truck. All three trucks came to a final rest off the north side of Illinois 14 with Rush’s truck overturning in a creek. Vaughan was not hurt and was released at the scene. Langley and Rush were airlifted from the scene and taken to an area hospital for treatment. Rush was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
