West Frankfort City Council to Discuss City Hall Project Tuesday Night

WEST FRANKFORT – The West Frankfort City Council will discuss and possibly act on accepting bids and awarding projects for renovations to the new City Hall building on West Main during Tuesday night’s meeting at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The council tabled this item for their meeting two weeks ago after receiving two bids for the necessary work at the new building. Because the bids were for different scopes of the project, the mayor and commissioners wanted to meet with the contractors to verify the bids first before taking action.

The city hopes to move into the new building by Jan. 1, 2020. Discussion has surrounded the current city hall building regarding it’s transition into the West Frankfort Police Department.

Banterra Bank donated the building located at 605 W. Main to the city earlier this year.
