Local Funds Approved by City Council for Marion Intersection Changes

MARION – The Marion City Council approved a resolution Tuesday night to commit local funds towards improvements needed at the intersection of Williamson County Pkwy. and 17th St.

Cody Moake, Marion Mayor Mike Absher’s Chief of Staff, said those traveling north on Williamson County Pkwy. to turn West on 17th Street do not currently have a clear line of vision for oncoming traffic. The intersection will be upgraded and widened to make the necessary changes.

The city will commit to appropriate available city funds of 20 percent of the cost of the work, with 80 percent through state roadway improvement funds.
