MT. VERNON – Scholarship applications are now available for students looking to pursue higher education in 2020-2021 for the Illinois Sheriff’s Association (ISA) scholarships.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard will award one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in the county. He said residents need to help the next generation any time they can.
There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are as follows:
- Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents
- Scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois
- Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2020-2021 school year (excluding summer session).
Applications are available at the sheriff’s office or the ISA Website, www.ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question, and return all documentation to the sheriff’s office by March 15, 2020.
