Crossville Woman Charged with Meth After Search on Warrant

CARMI – A Crossville woman was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine after the White County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Wayne County Sheriff about stolen firearms located in White County.

Officers arrived to 35-year-old Kimberly Jones’ home in Crossville Monday night on a search warrant obtained in Wayne County. During a search, two long rifles and a backpack containing rifle magazines and ammo were found; all listed on the warrant and reported stolen from Golden Gate in Wayne County. A small square glass plate with a white powdery substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, was also found.

The White County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Carmi Police Department, Carmi K-9 and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office served the search warrant. An officer arrived at the home shortly after 6 Monday night.

Sheriff Meier said Jones was taken to the White County Jail where she is being held without bond, and added further charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
