One Arrested in Metropolis After 60 Grams of Meth Seized During Search

METROPOLIS – One person was arrested and taken to the Massac County Jail in Metropolis after a search warrant was executed in Metropolis Thursday as part of an ongoing crystal methamphetamine investigation.

Agents from the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force-Ullin (SIDTF), Massac County Sheriff’s Department, Metropolis Police Department, Illinois State Police (ISP) SWAT and Illinois State Police District 2 seized approximately 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine during the search. The name of the person arrested was not released.

This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available for release at this time.

The Ullin Office of the ISP/SIDTF is comprised of membership from the Massac County Sheriff’s Department, the Massac County States Attorney’s office, Metropolis Police Department, Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, Hardin County States Attorneys’ office, and the Illinois State Police Zone 7. The case is being prosecuted by Massac County State’s Attorney Josh Stratemeyer.
