Illinois Coronavirus by the Numbers: Monday, April 6 Update

SPRINGFIELD – During Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s daily press briefing Monday, 1,006 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the Illinois were announced, as well as an additional 33 deaths, raising the state’s totals to 12,262 and 307 respectively.

Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike urged residents to “please stay at home” during the conference, noting Tuesday as being one of the warmest days of 2020 in several portions of the state.

New cases were additionally reported throughout southern Illinois. Here are the latest:

Jackson County (16 total)

  • Female in her forties, acquired locally, isolated at home and doing well.
  • Female in her thirties, acquired locally, isolated at home and doing well.
  • Female in her twenties, acquired locally, isolated at home and doing well.
  • Female in her eighties, acquired locally, isolated in a long-term care facility and doing fair.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County (6 W, 1 F)

  • Williamson – female in her twenties, acquired through travel to another state, isolated at home.

Saline County (two total)

  • Female in her forties, already followed proper guidelines, isolated at home and doing well.
