SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday announced 19 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 Monday, the lowest daily number since April 2. Officials also confirmed 473 new cases of coronavirus disease.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 133,016 cases, including 6,326 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 18,627 specimens for a total of 1,209,612. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 8-14 is three percent.
Locally, Jackson County reported two more deaths from COVID-19 Monday with no new cases. Williamson County reported seven news positive cases of COVID-19 Monday, all in isolation.
Saline County Monday reported one new positive case of COVID-19, the eighth confirmed positive case in the county according to the Egyptian Health Department. Additionally, the health department said White County Sunday reported another positive case of COVID-19, with a total of three for the county. The person is doing well and in isolation.
