HAMILTON CO. – Two teenage girls were involved in a single-vehicle injury crash Monday afternoon in Hamilton County.
According to Illinois State Police (ISP), a pickup truck driven by a 15-year-old girl from McLeansboro was traveling east on County Road 700 North around 4:45 p.m. when she lost control and ran off the roadway to the left. The truck re-entered the roadway before running off the roadway to the right and rolling over.
The driver and a 15-year-old girl passenger, also from McLeansboro, were taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They were both later transferred to a children’s hospital in St. Louis.
ISP said the driver was cited for no valid driver’s license and driving too fast for conditions/failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
