SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Secretary of State’s office is encouraging residents to seek drivers’ services online if possible as local offices continue to see a backlog of people at their offices since reopening in the last few weeks.
Henry Haupt, Deputy Press Secretary with the Secretary of State’s office, said using online services has doubled amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the office hopes to see the number continue to grow.
Haupt added if visiting a secretary of state facility is necessary, to please wear a mask and be patient with each facility strictly practicing social distancing and serving customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.
