Fritchnitch ‘Calls It A Day,’ to be Replaced As Superintendent of MVTHS

MT, VERNON – Jeff Fritchnitch has officially retired as Superintendent of Mt. Vernon Township High School. Melanie Andrews, recently Assistant Superintendent at the Regional Office of Education #13, is set to replace him. Fritchnitch said the district is “in good hands,” but the moment is still bittersweet.

 

Fritchnitch was the Superintendent at Altamont School District for 10 years before coming to Mt. Vernon and has been in education for more than 30 years. He said his most proud accomplishment in what he’s left behind at each school is simple:

 

Fritchnitch added he plans to fish as much as possible and work as little as possible heading into his newest endeavor of retirement.
