Du Quoin Woman Charged Monday With Mail Fraud, Identity Theft

FRANKLIN CO. – Franklin County Sheriff David Bartoni said Monday a Du Quoin woman is facing charges involving an ongoing investigation into the theft of U.S. Mail and the forging of financial documents and other forms of identification.

Thirty-year-old Juanita C. Crews has been charged with one count of identity theft (a Class 2 felony), two counts of forgery (a Class 3 felony) and three counts of mail fraud (also a Class 3 felony).

The sheriff saiddetectives served a search warrant at Crews’ home in rural Du Quoin Friday. Additional charges and arrests are pending.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Benton Police Department, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Brentwood, TN Police Department.
