Vienna – A group of Johnson County schools have released their reopening plan for the upcoming school year. The collection of schools is made up of both Vienna High School and Elementary School, and Buncombe, Cypress and New Simpson Hill Elementary schools. The release states that the current plan calls for 5 daily learning hours of 100 percent in-person instruction at the school five days a week. Masks will be required. Vienna schools will release students at 1:45pm, while due to a shared busing schedule, the other schools will release students at 2:00pm. A 100 percent remote learning schedule will also be available. The release states that those who choose remote learning will be doing the same course work as those who are at school on the same five learning hour schedule. Those who choose the remote learning schedule will do so for a minimum of one quarter of the school year; nine weeks at a time. Parents and guardians will be responsible for providing a daily health screening for their children in accordance with IDPH and ISBE standards. The release states that this agreement between schools acts as a baseline and that each school will provide their own detailed plans.
