Southern Illinois Counties Receive Shares of Rebuild IL Grants

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Transportation recently announced the second of six $250 million grants to counties, municipalities and townships to address local transportation needs.

Stemming from Rebuild Illinois capital plan, multiple southern Illinois counties will receive portions of the grants, listed below:

  • Williamson County: around $1.2 million
  • Jackson County: around $1.1 million
  • Jefferson County: around $950,000
  • Franklin County: around $857,000
  • White County: around $653,000
  • Saline County: around $592,000
  • Hamilton County: around $486,000.

The money was divided between counties, townships, and municipalities for road projects in their respective communities.
