MOUNDS – Four Missouri men were involved in an early Sunday morning pursuit in Mounds that ended in a single-vehicle crash killing one man and injuring three others.
According to a press release from Illinois State Police (ISP), 20-year-old Marquan L. Reed of Charleston, MO was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner. Two men – 29-year-old Desmond T. Greer of Wyatt, MO and 30-year-old Antonio L. Tate of Charleston, MO – were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while 28-year-old Ronald W. Mitchell of Charleston, MO was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
ISP said the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a car for a traffic stop around 2:10 a.m. when a car carrying the four men failed to stop, leading to a pursuit. The car lost control moments later, striking a home in the 300 block of Oak St.
No further information is available. Charges are pending investigation.
