Williamson County Leads New Tuesday COVID-19 Cases

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday announced 1,466 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 20 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 264,210 cases, including 8,332 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.

Local case breakdown:

  • Williamson County: 19
  • Randolph County: 18
  • Franklin County: seven
  • Saline County: six cases (five in isolation, one case status in progress)
  • Jackson County: five
  • Jefferson County: four
  • Perry and Massac counties: two each
  • Alexander, Hardin, Pulaski and White counties: one each
  • All cases (unless noted above) are in isolation.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests from Sept. 8-14 is 3.6 percent.
