CARMI – A Maunie man wanted on a White County warrant for DUI is now facing a drug charge in White County.
According to the White County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on routine patrol in Maunie Wednesday afternoon saw 45-year-old James H. Earl, wanted for DUI on a White County warrant, walking on Washington Street.
The deputy approached Earl in his squad car and made contact with Ear, subsequently taking him into custody.
During a pat down of Earl, the deputy found a meth glass smoking pipe with residue inside an Evercraft case. The pipe field-tested positive for meth.
He was taken without incident to the White County Jail. Bail was not set, according to the sheriff’s office’s press release.
