SPRINGFIELD – State health officials Sunday reported 4,711 new COVID-19 cases in Illinois, including 81 additional deaths. Southern Illinois reports included 90 new cases and one death.
The total number of cases reported stands at 1,028,750 including 17,574 deaths in Illinois.
Local case breakdown:
- Williamson County: 24
- Franklin County: 20, one death
- Randolph County: 19
- Jackson County: 15
- Saline County: eight
- Gallatin County: three
- White County: one
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Jan. 3 through the 9 is 7.9 percent.
