Illinois Rep. Brad Schneider Tests Positive for COVID-19 After Capitol Seige

WASHINGTON (AP) – A third Democratic member of the House who was forced to go into lockdown during last week’s violent siege at the U.S. Capitol has tested positive for COVID-19.

Rep. Brad Schneider, representing Illinois’ 10th District, said on Twitter that he tested positive Tuesday morning. Schneider noted he’s not feeling symptoms.

Some members of Congress huddled for hours at a secure location with others in the room for a shorter period. Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington state and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman of New Jersey have also tested positive, blaming Republican members of Congress who refused to wear masks.
