SPRINGFIELD – State health officials reported 3,292 new COVID-19 cases, including 40 additional deaths Sunday. Southern Illinois health departments reported 56 new cases across the region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 1,101,819 cases, including 18,750 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.
Local case breakdown:
- Williamson County: 22
- Franklin County: 18
- Jackson County: eight
- Saline County: four
- Gallatin and White counties: two each
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Jan. 17–23 is 4.8 percent.
A total of 1,112,725 doses of vaccine have been delivered to providers statewide, including Chicago. In addition, approximately 524,050 doses total have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, bringing the total doses in the state to 1,636,775.
