SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday reported 2,022 new COVID-19 cases, including 44 additional deaths. Among southern Illinois health departments, 42 new cases and four deaths due to the virus were reported.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,179,342 cases, including 20,374 deaths, in 102 counties.
Local case breakdown:
- Franklin County: eight
- Johnson County: six, one death
- Massac County: five
- Saline County: four, one death
- Williamson and Jefferson counties: four each
- Pulaski and White counties: three each
- Union County: two, two deaths
- Alexander County: two
- Gallatin County: one
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from Feb. 17–23 is 2.8%.
A total of doses of 2,584,125 vaccine have been delivered to providers in Illinois, including Chicago. In addition, approximately 445,200 doses total have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, bringing the total Illinois doses to 3,029,325.
Additionally, a total of 2,310,929 vaccines have been administered in Illinois as of last midnight, including 291,273 for long-term care facilities. The 7-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 58,141 doses. On Tuesday, 55,947 doses were administered in Illinois.
