Victim of West Frankfort Homicide Friday Identified

WEST FRANKFORT – West Frankfort Police Monday released the identity of the victim in Friday night’s homicide on South Skelton Street.

According to West Frankfort Police Chief John Prudent, 53-year-old Gary L. Gould of Herrin died from his injuries at Herrin Hospital after being shot several times during the incident.

Chief Prudent said around 9:07 p.m., the police department received a 911 call reporting that Gould had been shot in the 700 block of South Skelton Street.

ISP Crime Scene Services processed the scene of the shooting and West Frankfort Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene. The Williamson County Coroner took the body from Herrin Hospital to the Williamson County Morgue. An autopsy was performed at the morgue on Saturday.
