SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday reported 3,790 new COVID-19 cases in Illinois, including 28 additional deaths. In southern Illinois, 43 new cases of coronavirus, including four deaths were reported among area health health departments.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,265,457 cases, including 21,423 deaths. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from March 31-April 6 is 4.6%, the highest since January 30.
Local case breakdown:
- Jackson County: 11
- Williamson and Saline counties: 10 each
- Jefferson County: four
- Hardin County: two
- White County: one, one death
- Massac County: two deaths
- Franklin, Alexander, Johnson, Pulaski and Hamilton counties: one each
- Union County: one death
The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses for Illinois is 8,423,845. The number includes doses allocated for the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, which effectively has ended.
A total of 6,552,982 vaccines have been administered so far in Illinois. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 107,302 doses. On Tuesday, 139,724 doses were reported administered in Illinois.
