Franklin County to Elect New County Clerk in Tuesday’s Election

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Franklin County will vote for a new County Clerk in Tuesday’s election.

Newcomer Republican Kevin Wilson of West Frankfort and Democrat John H. Gardner, Jr. of West Frankfort are seeking the position to replace Greg Woolard, who is retiring after serving two terms.

Wilson said if elected, his plans will be to continue the normal day-to-day operations of the County Clerk’s office.

Wilson said so far he’s been “well received” by those he has spoken with and appreciates the opportunity to run for County Clerk.

Gardner has held positions in various government entities in Franklin County for the past 15 years, currently serving as the Frankfort Township Supervisor.

Gardner said he feels his experience will help him serve as County Clerk, if elected.

The winner will take office Dec. 1
