Kritter’s Critters

Sparky is one of 6, 8 week old puppies that were dumped near Joliff Bridge railroad tracks. He and his litter mates would have frozen to death had someone not contacted the Clinton County Animal Control Officer. Sparky was adopted from CHS and returned now 2 years old, emaciated, and having severe pain in his joints and jaw.

He has had an extensive knee surgery, and is now recovered. Sparky has auto-mediated poly arthritis. He has good days and bad days where his joints hurt, and sometimes has trouble moving around. He will need special vet care, and medication for the remainder of his life. He has been seen at the University of Illinois by a specialist there.

Potential adopters can visit to find the online application. The application consists of a vet check – adopters must take their current/past pets to the vet yearly for vaccines, and dogs must be given heartworm prevention 12 months out of the year.

All adult dogs have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed, heartworm tested, receive heartworm preventative, and are current on shots, including canine flu vaccine. Puppies are current on shots and wormed. They will be spayed/neutered and microchipped once they become of age.
